1. What is Coaching?

Coaching is a special partnership with an experienced professional mentor who is committed to your well-being, success and happiness. In the coaching relationship we focus on goals that will transform the quality of your work and personal life. To accomplish this, we draw from our extensive background in communication, motivation, business, optimal learning strategies and spiritual growth. We use our knowledge of these disciplines to benefit you, whether you are a professional, entrepreneur or business owner.

2. What does a coach do?

Helps you set better goals and then reach those goals

Provides the tools, support and structure to help you accomplish more

Facilitates your focus so you produce results more quickly

Asks you to do more than you would have done on your own

Brings out the best in you

Looks past how you appear to how you can be

3.   How do I know if I need a coach?

If you are struggling where you think you shouldn't.  If you are doing well but realize you could do even better.

At ECM we have noticed that our clients either have really had it, or they really want it.  Sometimes they are frustrated and are ready to do what ever it takes to get new results.  Other times they recognize that something big is awakening in them or in their organizations and they are ready to go for it!

Coach-client synergy can be transformational. However, if you are not yet ready to make a proactive, positive change in your life, this may not be the time for you to team up with a coach.  On the other hand, if you are sincerely ready to make a difference, then let's talk.

4.   Why should I hire a coach if I can succeed by myself?

The greatest performers in business achieve their success through good coaching. Sometimes coaching comes from an inspiring teacher or a mentor in one's profession. Or it can come from a professional coach. Regardless, in life consistent winners tend to achieve through good coaching.

5.  Is coaching like psychotherapy?

No. we are not physicians nor therapists. The coaching we offer is never psychotherapy. However, we are behavioral scientists who have helped professionals improve their performance for 15 years. In doing such we often use tested measuring instruments to help our clients understand and take charge of their lives more successfully. If you need psychotherapy we urge you to work directly with a psychotherapist before beginning coaching.

6.  What will I do with my coach?

With your coach, you will:

design and implement a better career/life plan

gain tools to stay focused and motivated

strike a successful balance between your personal life and your business life

take yourself and your abilities more seriously

budget your time and money more efficiently

receive objective, insightful feedback

do the things you should do, but usually do not

set and achieve goals more easily

7.  How long does the coaching relationship last?

It depends on you. There is not a specific end to coaching, but there should come a point when you are living at the level you wish to live. Depending on the level you wish to attain, that point probably takes several months, but less than several years.

We want the coaching relationship to last as long as you are realizing true growth with patterns of living which provide you with ongoing life-enhancing benefits. The better job we do at this, the more likely you are to recommend Executive Crisis Management to your friends and colleagues. That's values-based living and good business.

8.  How do I choose the right coach for me?

Don’t expect your coach to be an expert in your content.  Rather, expect them to be process experts.  Meet with your coach to make certain you feel comfortable, and if you do not, then find another resource.  The chemistry between the two of you needs to support your goals.  Finally, follow up with references and credentials.  Picking the right coach will be one of the more important decisions you make for the benefit of your career, so take time to make sure that you will get the leverage you expect.
